Goal setting is everywhere in our world. We set goals for our careers, our health, and our lives in general. Hopefully, you already know what makes you happy in life and have a big goal in mind. But how to succeed?
At times, I also need to remind myself the proper steps on how to reach my ultimate goal.
It's easy to sit around and think what we could do or what'd like to do but are we willing to accept the sacrifices required to achieve our goal. "Everybody wants a gold medal but few people want to train like an Olympian." You aren’t always going to love every step of the way but are you willing to put in your best effort no matter what?
It’s easy to say that we don’t have enough time and make all type of excuses. You don't need more time, you just need to decide!
One of the fastest ways to make progress on your goals is to press pause on less important things and focus on one goal at a time.
That’s where I personally struggle at times because I am passionate about too many things. Sometimes you just need to reorganize your priorities a little bit and suddenly progress comes much more quickly because you are now fully committed to a goal.
You are more likely to stick to your goals if you make a specific plan for when, where, and how you will perform. Organize and schedule your tasks for the day or the week.
It has an important impact when it comes to achieving goals. Whether or not you achieve your goals in the long-term has a lot to do with what types of influences surround you. It's very hard to stick with positive habits in a negative environment.
For example, it is more difficult to eat healthy when your kitchen is filled with junk food. It is more difficult to focus when you have 10 tabs open in your browser. It is more difficult to accomplish your most important task when you are continuously multitasking. When in doubt, eliminate options.
Always give your best effort and trust the timing of your life. You got this!
